Revetments

Revetments are a type of coasal defence that is  placed at an angle on bays or cliffs in a way that the revetments will slow down the process of  longshore drift (the transportation of sediment) and erosion of the bay/cliff by absorbing the energy of incoming waves.

A wooden revetment is an older version of a revetment since now revetments are mostly made concrete or stones. To have revetments installed can cost around about £1200 per metre.
