Sea Wall

In the past sea walls used to be vertical and absorbed/deflected the energy of the waves . However they suffered large amounts of  damage in a short period of time so now modern sea walls have a slope and a curved top to break up the energy of the wave.

Sea walls tend to be a very expensive type of coastal defence around £2000-£5000 per meter however sea walls should last 20-30 years.
